Charlotte's Whitewater Center Becomes an Outdoor Yoga Studio
Flow Fest returns to the U.S. National Whitewater Center for a free, two-day weekend of yoga, meditation, workshops, vendors and live music.
Once a year, the U.S. National Whitewater Center trades some of its rapids-and-ropes energy for mats and meditation. Flow Fest 2026 took place September 19 and 20 on the center's 1,300-acre campus in Charlotte.
The festival is free to attend with online registration, according to the Whitewater Center. Organizers describe the weekend as turning the property into an outdoor yoga studio, with more than 150 yoga and meditation classes and workshops, plus a vendor village and live music. Axios Charlotte counted more than 150 wellness practices on the schedule.
What to Expect
The program leans on the venue. Listings for the 2026 festival advertised options that suit a water-and-woods setting, including paddleboard yoga and goat yoga, alongside breathwork, sound workshops, intuitive bodywork and kids' yoga. Some specialty classes carry their own registration fee even though entry to the festival is free.
Practical details mattered, as they do at any crowded outdoor event. Mats are not provided, so participants bring their own. Outside food and drink are not allowed on the grounds. Parking is paid and lots can fill quickly at peak times, with some walks of up to half a mile to the main facility, and reported parking fees varied by source.
Looking Ahead
The center's festival page now lists the 2027 edition for September 18 and 19, with applications open for instructors, vendors and volunteers.
